Obituary For Donald Roy Boddy

Donald Roy Boddy passed away May 10, 2022, at the age of 81 at his home in Fremont CA. He was born on Dec 9th, 1940 in Sutter Creek, CA to Edward and Vivian Boddy. Don was the middle child of three children, his older sister was Anne Boddy, and his younger sister is Nancy Frost. Don grew up in Hayward CA, graduating from Hayward High School and then attending San Mateo Jr College where he received his associate degree. Don served in the Air Force as a psychological training technician from 1960 to 1964 where he proudly represented his country. After his service, Don spent 35yrs in the Sheet Metal Fabrication Industry. On September 25th, 1965 he married the love of his life Patricia “Pat” Culbertson. They had three children: Brian (Carolyn), Darren (Sheri), and Jennifer (David), and spent the last 50 years living in Glenmoor.

Don was an avid Forty-Niners and San Francisco Giants fan who was always decked out in team attire and would rarely miss watching games with Pat. In recent years, he loved watching his grandkids play soccer, basketball, lacrosse, golf, karate, taekwondo, swimming, and dance classes. He loved all of his grandchildren: RJ, Jonathan, Morgan, Rachel, Ella, and Wyatt.

In the last 25-years, Don was a member of the “19th Holers” where he enjoyed being on the golf course with his friends, especially their yearly Reno Golf tournament. He also enjoyed taking cruise vacations with Pat to their favorite destinations.

Don will always be remembered for his smile, love for his family, and generosity. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 27th, 2022 at 11 am. at Fremont Memorial Chapel 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont. Family and friends will gather after the services at Swiss Park in Newark, CA from 12-3 pm.
