Obituary For Dolores Mae Greer "Nani"

Dolores Mae Greer, lovingly known as Dee, Mom, Aunt Dee, and Nani, passed away at the age of 88 on October 14, 2023, in Fremont, California. She is survived by her children Denise Beeson (Mark Beeson), Robert Greer Jr., Russell Greer, Roger Greer, and DeAnna Douglas (Deanna Broom). She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Brianna Orduno (Jose Orduno), Brittany Starzak, Staci Drown (Matthew Drown), Bayley Seaver, Tyler Greer, Noel Greer, Chelsea Greer, Austin Greer, Sierra Douglas, Logan Douglas, and Julianna Douglas, as well as her great-grandchildren Gianna Watson, Devon Starzak, Emmett Orduno, Ella Mae Orduno, Otto Drown, Knox Drown, and Lucy Drown.

Dolores was born to Emil and Anita Lindquist on April 28, 1935, in Inglewood, California. She was the youngest of her three siblings–Emil (Bud) Linquist, Ramona Finlason, and Frank Lindquist. Growing up in Southern California, Dolores enjoyed spending time at the beach and participating in the high school drill team. Dolores married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Greer, on June 24, 1956.

Together, Dolores and Robert moved to Northern California and purchased a house in Fremont where they resided for 62 years. Robert ran his own accounting business, and Dolores worked alongside him as his bookkeeper. Sadly, Robert passed away in May of 2005.

Dolores enjoyed spending time with her children. The boys were all involved in sports: baseball, basketball, and soccer. She attended their games regularly and even took on the job as a scorekeeper for the baseball games.

Dolores dedicated 10 years of her life to the 4-H club, where her daughter, DeAnna, was a member. She served as a community club leader and was adored by both parents and children alike. Dolores took everyone under her wing and wholeheartedly committed herself to enriching the lives of the kids involved in 4-H.

During her retirement years, Dolores found joy in babysitting her grandchildren and witnessing their growth. She could always be found in her chair in the living room, crocheting ponchos for her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She also dedicated her time to working with Fremont Stage 1 Theatre for many years. Backstage, she could often be found with her sewing basket, helping to mend costumes. She cherished the memories she made during those years and had a deep appreciation for the theater community.

Dolores Mae Greer was a kind and loving soul who touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her warmth, generosity, and dedication to her family and community.
