My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Kim, I remember your dad taking us all over the place in the early 80's. He was always so much fun and such a 'cool dad'.
I am so sorry for your loss.

I got to work with David at a impressionable stage in my career; When I was an apprentice. So, I absorbed a lot of what he taught me. The do's and don'ts. One thing I remember him telling me never to do was something that he considered the "cardinal sin of carpentry" and that was...... Never leave a tool on top of a ladder! You or somebody else could be moving that ladder, the tool falls and BOINK! right on top of somebody's head. When you think about it it's basic common sense, but David must've either done it enough himself or seen enough people do it to consider it a cardinal sin. So, everytime I work off a ladder I always think of David and that cardinal sin.
One more story: When I was working with David it was the time that he was working on the Wade's house. It was 1985 (or '84) and Madonna's "Like A Virgin" was a big hit at the time and we would work with the radio on and everytime that song would come on he would go on and on about how much he really liked that song. I always modeled David as the rugged, outdoorsman type and there he was getting jiggy to "Like A Virgin". I was amused.........Miss you, David!
