Obituaries

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cris Hernandez— beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother. He entered rest on the morning of October 4, 2026.

Born in the Philippines on October 14, 1958, residing in many cities before settling in Union City with his wife, Bernadeth. He always had a big personality & was very charming & generous. He made friends everywhere he went so it makes sense that he was the best bartender. Really, he was good at everything. Drawing, building things, fixing things, basketball. He loved spending time with his grandkids & eating out at places with his wife.

He had been facing some health problems for awhile. On September 8, he called my mom because something felt off & to come home & call an ambulance. He had a heart attack & stroke simultaneously. His heart was failing as well as his kidney. He fought as long as he could & we are in relief that he’s no longer in pain.

To dad, we love you & will always be thinking of you. Mom loves you so much & I know you will always be with her. With all of us.

Cris is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Bernadeth, a son & daughter, grandchildren, brothers & sisters, nephews & neices, friends. So many people who know & love him.

He is reunited with his brothers Robert & Carlos, mother Nieves & father Marcel Hernandez.
