Obituary For Cresencia Dublois Ebarle
Cresencia was born to Ruperto and Rufina Acle on May 5, 1944, in Guadalupe, Makati in the Philippines. Ruperto was a colonel and chief of police in Makati. Growing up, Cres taught Catholic religious education to children. Cres was the oldest of four sisters (Cresencia, Aida, Victoria, and Regina) and two brothers (Tex and Rollo). Cres was a bright star academically, picking up two degrees in Mathematics and Chemistry from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines.
In July 0f 1967, at 23 years old, she came to the U.S., seeking to find her own way in the world. In the States, she would meet the love of her life, Napoleon. The two were married for 52 years. She would become a citizen of the United States. She gave birth to two sons (Alex and Fred) and became a mother to a son (Sonny) and four daughters (Anna, Beth, Roselle, and Sandy) through marriage. The family has grown to include 24 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Before coming to the United States, she was a college professor in mathematics at Siena College in the Philippines. She was also a Registered Chemist. In the States, she continued to teach, rising to become Center Director, and eventually Vice President for the San Jose Job Corps. She continued professional life consulting for Job Corps around the United States.
In retirement, she enjoyed traveling, frequently visiting the Philippines with Napoleon. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed hosting family gatherings for birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve. She blessed Napoleon from the day they met till his passing in May 2021. Today, their love story continues.
A Viewing will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 PM with a Vigil at 6:00 PM at Fremont Memorial Chapel 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont. Funeral Mass will be Friday, March 25, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Edwards Catholic Church 5788 Thornton Ave, Newark.
