Obituary For Charlotte Mary Ornellas
Charlotte M. Ornellas, 90 years old, was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She came to Oakland, California during WWII, where she met the love of her life, Larry Ornellas. They married, settled in San Leandro, California and provided a loving home for their three daughters: Charlene (Joe Montoya) of San Leandro, Laurie (Bob Marshall) of Newark, CA, and Jennifer (Mike Montoya) of San Leandro. After Larry passed away in 1995, Charlotte continued to maintain the loving household that they created. Charlotte loved her children and grandchildren; cooking; music; gardening; and her Hawaiian heritage, being a fabulous hula dancer and player of the ukulele. She always had a smile on her face and was always ready to help with any project or problem. Her greatest joy, though, was a simple hug from her grandchildren. Charlotte worked in retail and was a lifelong member of the Retail Clerks Union. In addition to her daughters, she is survived by her six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and loving nieces and nephews. Loved by her family and friends, she will be sorely missed. The family would like to thank the staff and hospice nurses at Sunrise Retirement Inn for their exemplary care.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 17, from 10-11am and a Chapel Service will begin at 11am at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, CA.

Our Aunt Charlotte was a beautiful, intelligent, warm, dynamic, loving, witty, caring and generous woman with a great sense of humor who we were all fortunate to enjoy in our life. She always had a twinkle in her eyes reflecting the rascal side of her personality, . We will always cherish the memories of our association with her.
