Obituary For Brahmananda Sambasiva Rao Adivikolanu
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brahmananda Sambasiva Rao Adivikolanu, a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He passed away peacefully on the morning of October 3, 2026, at the age of 80.
Sambasiva Rao is survived by his loving wife, Satyavathi; his son, Sudhakar; daughters, Vani and Uma; daughter-in-law, Radha; son-in-laws, Ashok and Krishna; grandchildren, Ajay, Vijay, Harshita, Nikhil, Ani, Diya and Deeksha; brothers, Nageswara Rao, Bun, Venu, Ramana, Bala; sisters, Ammulu, Sarojini, Padma ; and many other relatives and dear friends. He touched the lives of countless people, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
Sambasiva Rao was born in India and spent his childhood in the village of Relangi, where he enjoyed a lively and happy rural life. He studied, helped his father Subrahmanyam with farming, and supported his mother Kamakshamma around the home. These early experiences shaped the values that guided him throughout his life - hard work, humility, resilience, compassion, faith and a deep commitment to family.
After high school, Sambasiva Rao moved to Vizag and began the next chapter of his life. There, he built his career with determination and a desire to contribute to society. He also met his life partner, Satyavathi. Together, they built a loving family and raised their children with strong values, encouragement, and unwavering support.
For more than three decades, Sambasiva Rao balanced his professional responsibilities with his devotion to his family. As his career grew, so did his commitment to family and helping his children build successful and fulfilling lives. He took great pride in his family and was always there to guide, encourage, and support them.
Retirement did not mean slowing down for Sambasiva Rao. Instead, he found a new way to serve others by founding the Adivikolanu Charitable Foundation, dedicated to helping underprivileged children and families. More than 15 years later, his family continues this work, carrying forward his legacy of compassion and service. He also took time to complete his Law degree and joined the Bar council.
In his later years, Sambasiva Rao enjoyed spending time between the United States and India with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Family was always at the heart of his life, and the time he shared with them was among his greatest joys.
Sambasiva Rao was a role model to us and taught us countless lessons through both his words and the way he lived. His passion, compassion, courage, vision, integrity, strong family values, and unwavering work ethic touched the lives of his family, friends, colleagues, and community.
Although we are deeply saddened by his passing, we are grateful for the years we were blessed to have him in our lives. His memories, teachings, and values will continue to live on through his family and all those whose lives he touched.
Sambasiva Rao, you were deeply loved, and you will be deeply missed. Your presence may no longer be with us, but your spirit, your legacy, and the love you gave us will remain in our hearts forever.

I was fortunate to have met Uncle during his time in Virginia. He was such a warm, kind, and calm person, always greeting everyone with a gentle smile. A very good person with highest valued person. I remember his visit to our home at Tirupati. We all went to Tirumala to have darsan of lord Venkateswara. His dis appearance is great loss. I pray God to give strength to his family members to bear the pain.

I still remember our first phone call to discuss a potential matrimonial match between Radha and Sudhakar. We connected so well that we began speaking every weekend to get to know each other and our families. Once they were engaged, I learned so much about our customs through you, which was invaluable as Sita and I planned their 2010 wedding. Right after the marriage, Sita and I traveled to Visakhapatnam to attend the reception. You warmly introduced us to so many of your relatives and friends—it remains one of the most memorable moments of our lives. It was also a privilege to learn about the charitable trust you established, and to watch you personally distribute monthly pensions to community members in need. Your dedication to awarding scholarships and medals to students achieving academic excellence was deeply inspiring. I remember our conversations so clearly, especially when you spoke of your family and how you supported your siblings. You and your wife, Satyavathi, did an outstanding job raising your children—instilling true family values and guiding them toward excellence in their higher education and careers. I will always cherish the many conversations and memories we shared. Sita and I miss you dearly. May your soul rest in peaceful heavenly abode. Omkaram Basavapathruni
