Obituary For Billie Marie Frederick

Billie Marie (nee Frazier) Frederick was born on June 28, 1934, in Fort Collins, Larimer County, CO. She passed away on January 12, 2014, in Fremont, CA.

Billie was the youngest daughter of George Frazier and Geneva (nee Kropp) Frazier. Her family moved to Southern CA when she was a little girl, and it was there, in 1952, that she met and married Al Frederick, her husband of 61 years. They moved to Newark, CA, in 1960, where they raised their three sons.

Billie was a founding member of the Fremont Frosters, a cake decorating club. Having begun in 1966, it is the oldest such club in California. She was a master cake decorator who taught cake decorating, knitting, crocheting, gift-wrapping, and genealogy through the Fremont Recreational Department and elsewhere for 29 years. She self-published several cake decorating booklets and sold hundreds of copies.

She was a member of The Family Tree Hackers Group, a genealogy society of Newark, California, where she researched Al and her family roots. She even found ties to the Mayflower, King Charlemagne, and the Duke of Normandy.

Her greatest joy was her family. Her sister Mary Lou McBee predeceased her, but she is survived by her husband Al, her three sons: Jim, Ken, and Bob, her daughters-in-law: Linda and Cathy, her three grandchildren: Rachel, Andrew, and Jason, along with Rachel’s husband Chris Kelley, and her sister, Jan Gage. She will be missed very much.

Billie’s memorial and reception will be held at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Boulevard, Fremont, CA 94536, on Friday, January 17, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity. Billie will be buried at Irvington Memorial Cemetery, 41001 Chapel Way, Fremont, CA 94538.

Sorry for your loss. I just met Billie in November with a phone conversation about family tree stuff. Sorry I did not get to know her better when she felt well. I hope someone in your family continues with her research and data, she was very experienced. Larry Frazier Greeley, CO 80634

Al, Jim, Kenny & Bobby and all of the Frederick's. I just want to say what a special lady Billie was to Sharon and I. I share your loss and we are hopeful God will bless you all with his comfort and peace. Billie was always nice to the Silva Boys, I am confident that I can speak for all of Boys from Cherry Street, Billie cared for us, for that we are greatful. I am greatful as well for the way Billie cared for our Mom's, Katherine and Dottie. As Job said, " I love the Lord because he has heard my voice. Therefore, I will call on him as long as I live." I ask him today, may you bring peace and comfort to all of them who share this loss. Thank you Billie for being there for us. Tom & Sharon Silva

I met Billie when I joined the Frosters as a new decorator. Billie always took time to explain a particular decorating application, as I struggled to try something new. You will be missed.

I would like to say that I will personally miss Cousin Billie's Christmas letter that she sent out every year. When I joined the Merck/Frazier family, Cousin Billie accepted us with no reservations. She welcomed me openly when others did not. I will miss her dearly. Even though we have never met face-to-face, I knew that I was loved. Thanks for being such a wonderful person and I will miss you. To the family, I am sorry for your loss and wish you peace in your time of sorrow. Merck World in Florida will be praying for you.
