Obituary For Betty Jean Marquardt

Born on November 17th, 1929 in Oakland, CA, and entered into rest on October 13th, 2015 in Fremont, CA at the age of 85. Survived by her daughters: Kitty Curran (Mickey), Mary Fisher (Jim), and Barbara Green (Chuck); grandchildren: Tina, Tess, Mickey Jr., Donna, Richard, and Charlie; and brothers: Richard Keough (Myra), and Robert Keough (Patsy). Also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Raymond Marquardt Sr., and her son Raymond Marquardt Jr.

Betty loved spending her free time with her family. She was always up for a game of cards or playing make believe with the kids. At family functions she was always adamant to join in and get her hands dirty, even though her family would rather her sit back and relax. But at the age of 85 slowing down was never something Betty thought of. At just a few weeks’ shy of her 86th birthday she continued to enjoy her time playing bingo three times a week, attending weekly TOP’s meetings, and even working. Two of the many physical things her family gets to remember her by is her expansive Betty Boop collection, and the many trinkets she surrounded herself with come bingo night to bring her good luck. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 19th, from 9-10am and a Chapel Service will begin at 10am at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. A private burial will be held for Betty.
