Obituary For Arthur Glenn Agpalasin
Art Agpalasin passed away on October 12, 2018 in Morgan Hill, California after a long illness, which he valiantly faced strengthened by the grace of God and the fellowship of those who loved him. Indeed, his prayer had always been, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Art was born on February 4, 1960 in Tacoma, Washington; the fourth child and first son of Arthur and Shirley Agpalasin. Shortly after his birth, Art’s family relocated to Salinas, California, where spent his formative years. He graduated from North Salinas High School in 1978. After attending some college, Art recognized his deep passion for automobiles. He loved cars. Thus, Art began a lifelong career in the automotive industry, working for various car companies and in various aspects of the automotive industry. Art was true auto expert and very often would showcase the breadth and depth of his knowledge with almost everyone he met.
Art was also a deeply religious individual. Christ was truly the center of his life. Often Art would be found reading Scripture, spending time in prayer or in heated theological conversation with others. He was never overtly pious or showy because he knew he was not perfect. Rather, Art lived a genuine faith in which he allowed his struggles to be met by the love of Christ. He let Christ be perfected in him. His passion for Christ was authentic, passionate, humble and transformative.
One of Art’s greatest blessings were the deep friendships he forged with his fellow parishioners from Kingsway Community Church in San Jose. His fellow Christians inspired him and challenged him on the path of holiness as they witnessed the Gospel to him most especially when they selflessly assisted him during his long and arduous illness. We thank God of them and pray that they will receive abundant graces from God for their goodness.
Art was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Shirley. He is survived by his 4 siblings, 4 nephews and one niece.
Memorial Service will be held for Art at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 26, 2018, Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont.
A private interment will take place the following day at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1965 Reliez Valley Road – Lafayette.
