AnneMarie passed away peacefully January 16, 2023 at 91 years old. She is our beloved mom & Oma and is survived by her four children, Birgitta Corsello (Sam), Anita Moreci (Steve), Karyn Jones (Andy), Norbert TenKortenaar, and 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, & 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 3 sisters-in-law & many nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents Eduard & Mia van Erven Dorens (Holland), her first husband of 16 years Jan (1973), her second husband Joel of 12 years (2007), her brothers Daan and Eduard, her brother-in-laws Han, Leo, Fons, and Herman, and sister-in-laws Meik and Lies.

She was born in Holland and was the second of 8. She came to the United States as a newlywed in 1956 with her husband Jan TenKortenaar. They made their home first in Chicago, then San Francisco, and settled in San Bruno to raise their 4 children. AnneMarie was a strong woman who had a smile on her face everywhere she went. She was calm, supportive, compassionate, and volunteered her time, talent, knowledge and resources to help others until age 90. She worked as a Medical Office manager and bookkeeper. During her life she was a Girl Scout Leader & camp director, PTA officer/president, taught CCD for the Catholic Church, organizer for the Peninsula Parents without partners, volunteer at the San Francisco Opera, member of the Bachelor & Bachelorette Square Dance group where she met her second husband Joel, a square dance caller, she danced and performed demonstrations with the Farmers & Farmerettes, and was an officer for the Golden State Mobile Home Owners League advocating to protect seniors residing in senior mobile home facilities.

She loved visiting family and friends – travelling to Holland, all over Europe and the USA. She loved the beach, swimming, classical music, square dancing, gardening, travelling and cruising. Trips included Colorado, Washington, Arizona, New England, Japan, many countries in Europe, Costa Rica, and multiple times to Hawaii – one of her favorite places. She cruised to Alaska, the Bahamas, Mexico, Canada, countries along the Mediterranean Sea, and the Panama Canal. Her travel partners over the years included Jan & Joel, girlfriends Ethel & Elizabeth, sisters Mia & Carla, her children and grandchildren, members of Farmers & Farmerettes Square Dance club, and the Red Hat Ladies. She experienced her first Giants game in 2018. She proudly became a US citizen in 1994, married her second husband, Joel in 1995, and moved to Fremont. She was a devout Catholic attending St. James the Apostle Catholic Church.
