Obituaries

Suzanne of Newman, CA went to her heavenly home on September 4, 2019. Born in Newman, Ca. She settled in Fremont CA for 47 years then moved to Florida were she resided for 23 years until recently moving back to Newman her last 2 years. She is survived by her daughter Deborah Montes son in-law Sam Montes and grandkids Sammy Montes (Renee Montes), Justin Montes and Jacob Montes. Has two beautiful great granddaughters Lillian and Paulina Montes. Daughter from Florida Kimberly Law and companion Ashlee. And her brother Robert (Bob) Rivas. She was proceeded in death by her son Paul J Luna Jr, parents Laura and Frank Rivas, brothers Daniel and Ruben Rivas.

Suzanne was a Fremont icon as she was very involved with the Fremont Unified School District as her children were growing up. She was the PTA President for Patterson Elementary School and Thornton Jr High School. She introduced the Halloween Carnival to Patterson along with the cheer program. She then went on to being the cheer coach at Thornton Jr High School. She was a key believer in safety first for the children at Thornton Jr High School where she took students to the Fremont City Council Meeting and lobbied for a light to be put up at the corner of Dusterberry and Thornton Blvd, where it passed and now sits in front of the school. She did so many things to make Fremont and our schools a better place for children. She will be missed dearly by many Family and Friends.

Visitation will be held 12:00 – 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 21, 2019 with a Chapel Service at 1:00 PM, Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont.
