Tom and Tammy, Although I never met Andrew, I had the opportunity to know him through the eyes and stories shared by an adoring father. From the art work hanging on Tom's wall drawn by a loving son to the excitement of basketball games won and lost, hikes made and great adventures like zip-lining in Hawaii. All of these gave a peek into this wonderful young man's life. Words cannot express the sorrow I feel for the loss of your son. You are in my thoughts and prayers and may God bring comfort and peace over you during these difficult times. - Jacqueline Laster

We were very saddened by the news of Andrew's passing. I had the privilege of coaching Andrew for several years at Niles. I remember him always smiling and enjoying being with his teammates. We always said, no matter What the future holds, that each player we crossed paths with would always be part of our family. We mourn the loss of one of our family

I am fortunate and blessed to have coached Andrew for one season under the NCLL "Nationals" team. Andrew loved the game, played with a lot of heart and always wanted the ball to pitch. I used him as a starter because of his determination and grit. He joked around and had lots of fun with his teammates. Andrew, thank you for the awesome memories. I will always remember you! Coach Rick

Dear Tammy & Tom, We were very saddened to hear about your son Andrew. I can't even imagine the devastation you are going through. I briefly met Andrew only twice, once when we ran into you guys at Chili's restaurant and more recently, when he came to the Infusion Center delivering goodies from CostCo. Such a nice, handsome young man. It was so evident the way you introduced him and looked at him with pride that he was the light of your life! I pray that he didn't suffer and that his passing was quick. And I hope you can find peace knowing that his soul with always be with you until you meet again one day... Hugs, Love & Prayers for your strength to recover from this tragedy. Respectfully, Raquel & Tom Hoag

We met Andrew at Little League when he and my son were quite young. Through the years, we played on several teams together, the last one when he and my son were both 17. Andrew was a very enthusiastic player who loved baseball and worked hard at improving his game. I enjoyed coaching him on the field and talking with him when driving to many games and practices. In the dugout, he had a great sense of humor and liked to make everyone laugh. He loved to talk about sports, and unlike a lot of boys that age, Andrew always had something to say about many other subjects as well. I was privileged to know him and I cherish those times we shared. Roger Whitson

Dear Tammy & Tom, How could I forget the little boy who used to call Tammy everyday at around 2:30pm many years ago, to let his mommy know that he was home from school? Over the years, I had seen him grow up and I was always amazed at how big and tall of a man he had become, yet that gentle sweet smile had always remained. Andrew might have been gone too soon, but he was nurtured and cherished by the best possible parents one can only hope for... My love and prayers to both of you, and may Andrew's memory remain in everybody's heart forever... Lalaine, 4W@WHHS

Tammy and Tom, Our family was so very sad to hear of your loss. Our hearts are breaking for you. We realize there are no words that can adequately comfort during a time like this. Please know that we are praying for God’s peace for you. I enjoyed the opportunity to get to know Andrew during the times I drove he and Zach home from WHS. I will also never forget his smile and expressions from the mound….a pleasure to watch!! That boy loved the game and being out there with his friends. Such a nice, well-mannered young man…A very, very good boy who will live on in our hearts and memories forever. God Bless both of you. The Strand Family

Dear Tammy I have no words to express how sorry I am for you and Tom. I didn't know Drew well, but I know Jackson thought very highly of him. I still remember seeing you and Drew at Great America a few years ago and thought how awesome it was for you to accompany your son to the amusment park. I remember thinking you both had a great friendship going on. My thoughts will continue to be with and your husband Lillian Jackson Aranguren

Dear Tammy and Tom I can't tell you how sorry I am for the passing of Andrew. I am thankful that we were able to be part of his life growing up. I will always cherish memories of some of the trips we shared together. From the water gun war to the ski trip, which I don't think Andrew ever forgave me for. We all loved him. You both did a wonderful job of honoring him yesterday. We will always be there for you. Ray Mowry

I am so blessed to have had Andrew in my class as a junior. Andrew and I shared a deep love of baseball and loved to tease each other! He was a bright spot in my class, that I counted on seeing every day. Andrew's parents were so committed to him and shared their love for him, with me every chance we met over his junior year. Andrew you will always be a Husky and left us far too soon. -H Paris

It was the greatest season ever! It was the 2005 little league season when our Minor A White Sox had won the first half of the NCLL league, but we had just lost two players. As the manager, I needed to recruit some Minor B players to help us complete our roster. It just so happened that I was scheduled to umpire a Minor B game that Andrew was playing in and he was a "player of interest" for our coaching staff. I was feeding the pitching machine when Andrew came up to bat. I still remember as if it were yesterday -- Andrew blasted a line drive right at me that nearly took off my head. It became quite obvious that Andrew was a ball player we needed on our team. Thankfully, Tom and Tammy agreed to let him move up and join the White Sox. In the second have of the season, Andrew had many key hits and defensive plays that propelled us to win the NCLL Championship. As I went back through our scrapbook, Andrew also had many key plays that helped the White Sox win the Minor A Tournament of Champions, in a dream come true season. Andrew was a pleasure to coach and was always respectful and willing to take advice. He played the game with joy and a beaming smile on his face. Andrew was so lucky to have such loving and caring parents like Tammy and Tom and my heart aches for the both of you. Although we won't know what great things Andrew might have accomplished, he left behind some beautiful memories that we will never forget. Thank you, Andrew, for begin part of our White Sox team - it was the greatest season ever! ~ Kerry Knight
