Entered into rest on September 23, 2012 in Fremont, CA at the age of 82. Loving mother of Alberto Bernal and his wife Nancy of Auburn, Richard Bernal and his wife Kathy of Tracy, David Bernal and his wife Dorothy of Riverbank, Edward Bernal and his wife Velma of Newark, and Norma Gordillo and her husband David of Fremont. Grandmother of 13, great-grandmother of 31 and great-great grandmother of 2. Caring sister to Jose Llanos and his wife Hortencia of Newark, Guillermo Llanos of San Diego, and Guadalupe Llanos of Newark. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Lamberto Bernal on July 2, 2004.

Born August 28, 1930 in Baja, CA, Amelia was a very loving wife and a wonderful mother. She was extremely dedicated to her family. She had a passion for cooking for her family. She enjoyed all of the wonderful family gatherings she arranged. She was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren. She loved to talk about her family and how it continued to grow over the years. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas. She especially enjoyed the traditional Christmas walk we took annually. Her love and affection will be missed, especially her warm and giving smile. She will live in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 27, 5-8pm with a Vigil at 7pm at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 28, 10:30am at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 5788 Thornton Ave., Newark, CA 94560. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, CA.
