What a true blessing Alvina received and also her family for having her leave this Earth while in her home, surrounded by the love of her family. God Bless all of you.. One memory I have of Aunt Vina is when myself and my mom spent the night at her house in Watsonville and bright and early (5am) the next morning she was teaching me how to make menudo. She was so sweet with me because I know she was thinking ...poor Lori's family.. She doesn't even make menudo for them!! Let me show her how it's done!! I enjoyed all moments spent with Aunt Vina and Uncle Rudy. You will forever will be in my thoughts and prayers. Love Lori

A Nephew Many many memories over 60 years! The most powerful are the most recent. When Aunt Vina came home from the hospital I was able to witness her joy and gratitude as so many family and friends began coming over to visit. Something she loved so much. There was laughter , good food , little kids Aunt Vina was happy. I received permission from Uncle Rudy to share the following intimate exchange between them during the late night hours after everyone had left; Her first night home , tired yet happy to be home , quietly and softly Alvina said to Rudy,"We have good kids, their so good to us" and Rudy replied," Yes they are, we're lucky" I cried from deep inside. This husband and wife in their last moments sharing their gratitude for their children . Her third night home I was awoke out of my sleep to hear Alvina yelling ,"RUDY"!! , "RUDY"!! Uncle Rudy quickly responded, "what"?,"What is it Al" She quietly said,"I love you" Rudy answered back, "I love you" I am forever grateful to the Vera family to be allowed to be so close in Her last days. These memories and more are to be carried forever in my heart until we meet again God bless you all
