Obituaries

Alex Caasi Samson was born on December 30th, 1946 in Bolinao, Pangasinan, Philippines and entered into rest on April 7th, 2016 in Fremont, California. His parents, who are predeceased, were Antonio and Virginia Samson.

The family migrated from the Philippines to Guam in 1968. After 3 months in Guam, he was drafted to the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War time. After serving 1 term in U.S. Army, he moved to San Francisco and got married to Virginia in 1972. He worked at the Veteran’s Administration for a few years and then got a job in the Alameda Naval Supply and worked as a computer programmer as his last job before retiring in 1990.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Virginia Samson; children: Alexie Samson (Dora) and Albert Samson; grandchildren: Alberto and Addasyn Samson; sisters: Mila S. Odero and Angela Holt; and brothers: Johnny Samson, Elmer Samson, Anthony Samson, and Arthur Samson.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 17th, from 1-5pm with a Chapel Service at 3pm at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Burial will be held on Monday, April 18th, 10am at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Rd., Dixon, CA 95620.
